Daniela Granados
Daniela joined the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands in November 2021 in the position of Intern, where she is gaining experience working across multiple departments, primarily aiding the Curatorial team. She is gaining valuable insight into museum operations, exposure to established and emerging Caymanian artists, knowledge on collections care and storage, experience collaborating to build exhibitions from the ground up and much more.
Daniela is a recent graduate of Goldsmiths, University of London where she acquired her Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art and History of Art. She has explored themes of cultural assimilation and its relationship to personal identity through her art practice, and examined decolonial/feminist/intersectional studies in the context of today’s pandemic and other popular political movements through writing. She seeks to challenge herself and build strong museum sector foundations through this internship. In the near future, she plans to return to the UK to complete a Master’s in Digital Media.
