Tyra Iton

Tyra previously interned at the National Gallery in the Education Department and returned to the team in 2021 after graduating from university. She received a Bachelors in Animation while studying in the UK, and hopes to help facilitate learning and discussion of art while integrating digital technology. Tyra believes that there will be an increasing crossover between digital art and traditional art going forward, and she hopes to share this traditional-meets-contemporary approach with curious youth via her education role at NGCI.

She is passionate about figure drawing and graphic illustrative work but continues to expand her knowledge of other mediums in her efforts to become a well-rounded art instructor. Tyra hopes to gain a better understanding of local and international art education practices while working at the National Gallery.
