Q & A

Where are you from?

Canada

When did you start creating your art and what are your preferred materials?

I began painting 40 years ago then had a long break during which I raised six children. Kids like to paint. I like to paint, but in order to avert disaster, not at the same time. My kids finally grew up and we found ourselves in Cayman with something I'd not had for 40 years: time on my hands. What else to do but to pick up the brush again? I added ceramics to the mix and really began to enjoy myself.

What inspires you to create your pieces?

Humor, family, friends, nature.

What do you think are the most important and unique characteristics of the pieces/products you create?

For painting, I enjoy doing life-like people or animals as well as humorous Caribbean totem creatures. In my work with clay, I love creating fish or chickens and putting them on found pieces of coral.

What do you expect for your creative future?
