Chollette is perhaps best known for his signature mosaic configuration, which recalls the fragmented, interlocking planes and multiple viewpoints of Cubism. His Rastafarian faith inspires much of his subject matter. The central imagery in this work is a “Man-bird”: the bird symbolism representing purity of thought and the male figure, or “giant”, power and the physical body. Commenting on this work, the artist suggests that only when positive or “higher” thoughts lead physical actions can we reach true enlightenment.
