Reflecting is inspired by a historical photograph found in the Cayman Islands National Archives. It depicts Caymanian turtle fishermen returning home after a long day at sea. Turtle fishing was once the Islands’ economic mainstay before being eclipsed by tourism.  The landscape is fragmented by bold marks of paint that recall the Divisionism technique used by the Neo-Impressionists.
