NGCI Collections Curator William Helfrecht and celebrated local artist Virginia Foster join Orrett Connor on Radio Cayman to promote Foster’s ongoing sculpture exhibition with the National Gallery. Titled Wonders of Clay: Perfectly Imperfect, the exhibition seeks to show how something as mundane as clay can still be turned into something beautiful. Helfrecht discusses how Foster is an important storyteller of art, and how she is an invaluable “keeper of memory” regarding material and cultural Caymanian history, in turn evoking important discussions of the environment and the future of Cayman.
