On 02 February, Collections Curator William Helfrecht and Education Manager Maia Muttoo joined host Sterling Dwayne Ebanks on Talk Today to promote NGCI’s newest exhibition, The People’s Collection. During the show the conversation touched on the cultural significance of the National Collection, and how in light of NGCI’s 25th anniversary this year, the works on display tell the story of both the history of the visual arts in Cayman, as well as the history of the Gallery’s founding and growth over the past several decades. Muttoo and Helfrecht also promoted the new digital space that is featured in the exhibition and discussed the importance of utilising digital programming as an inspiring education tool, particularly in light of the pandemic and the widespread shift to alternative forms of virtual and online learning.
