Tapping into the expansive field of the human imagination, artists have long sought inspiration from the wellspring of dreams, memories, mystical visions, and the suggestive realm of the subconscious.

Foregrounding the diverse practices of those who are similarly inspired to create ‘from within’, From the Mind’s Eye presents an inter-generational selection of artists who embrace spontaneity, emotion, and the use of unconventional techniques, pushing the boundaries of artistic media across diverse subject matter, whilst testing the respective limits of their own creative potential.

Encompassing the works of visionary artist Gladwyn K. “Miss Lassie” Bush and the experimental abstractions of Bendel Hydes, the exhibition traces a thread from these early pioneers to the eclectic production of Cayman’s contemporary artists. Spanning a wide variety of themes, the featured artists offer a collective meditation on the creative process itself, illuminating in the process the multiple origin points from which it can potentially emerge.
